Craven Country Jamboree

On the first Craven stage, under a perfect summer sun, Roy Orbison arrived, dark glasses, rolled up sleeves, guitar in hand. As the years passed, more country greats appeared like Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, George Strait, and Kenny Chesney in 2010. The list goes on like a country road.

But it's short compared to the list of country music fans who have travelled to the Craven valley to make the Craven Country Jamboree the World's Greatest Country Music Festival.

The "World's Greatest Country Music Festival" is the longest running multi-day music festival in Canada. It has been on the same site for over a quarter century - in the middle of the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley. Our endless blue skies and rolling green hills are a treat for the eyes, but that's just the beginning of this extraordinary experience.

For four days in July, 23,500 fans a day visit from every corner of the globe. But we never lose our prairie charm. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is fun, and the musical talent is next to none.

The main attraction is the stellar talent gracing the main stage every day. The Craven Country Jamboree attracts the hottest stars, and the best new talent country music has to offer.

Besides the main stage talent, we offer plenty of activities like andrenaline pumping pro-bull-riding demonstrations, a mesmerizing hypnotist, a song-writers circle, Karaoke action in the Saloon, and a cowboy church service.

Moving out of the main concert area and on to Main Street is another pleasure for our fans. They are treated to a "county fair" atmosphere with quaint old west type buildings which house fabulous food and merchandise vendors offering many tasty treats.

Main Street is also home to our beer gardens, where many local bands are featured each day. Fans can enjoy a cold beverage, some great music, and a dance on our wooden dance floor.

Our campgrounds are just across the scenic Qu'Appelle river and  can accommodate over 8500 campers. Fans can either stay in our reserved camping areas, where the sites are pre-marked, or they can stay in our huge general camping area, where, unlike most festivals, fans mark their own sites, ensuring they can stay with friends and family.

With its storied history, amazing talent, and friendly appeal, the Craven Country Jamboree is easily one of the best events in Canada.

Troy Vollhoffer has always had a passion for the Craven Country Jamboree because he’s been there since its inception in 1983. Working first as a stage hand for his father Harold, when he was production manager when Troy was just a youth, to providing the massive stage through his company Premier Global Production, to finally acting as saviour to the failing festival in 2005, Troy has proven many times over his commitment to the Craven Country Jamboree and to his home province of Saskatchewan.

Nestled in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley just 22 km north of Regina, Saskatchewan, is the quaint little village of Craven. Just across the highway is one of the most historical music festival sites in North America. The Big Valley site has been host to music festivals for over 28 years – the longest in Canada!

When the festival was in danger of disappearing, Vollhoffer came to its rescue, offering to take it over and set up a professional management team to organize and run it. He was nearly alone in his vision, as many believed that the festival had run its course and could never be as successful as it had been in the past.

Vollhoffer’s vision was sound and his dream became reality very quickly. After having a moderately successful first year in 2005, the Craven Country Jamboree quickly became the model of festival success, selling out in fully four of it’s years (so far!). With Vollhoffer’s vision, his deep connections to country music in Nashville, and his dedicated staff, the Craven Country Jamboree has become the jewel in his festival crown.
